Prabowo Attends UKRI Graduation: “To Young People, Be a Leader Who Loves the People!”

Bandung, IO – Pendidikan Kebangsaan Republik Indonesia Foundation chairman Prabowo Subianto attended the undergraduate program graduation ceremony of the Universitas Kebangsaan Republik Indonesia (UKRI) at the Trans Convention Center, Bandung, West Java, Thursday (29/2).

Prabowo conveyed a message to hundreds of graduates not to stop studying so they could make more contributions to the betterment of the country. He said that Indonesia always needs the role of young people and encouraged them to become leaders who always love the people.

“I trust that these young people will be leaders who love the people,” said Prabowo. “We need resilient young people, we need intelligent young people, we need smart young people.”

Prabowo considers the role of a leader to be an important factor that influences the future of a nation. Thus, he advised the graduates to prioritize the interests of the people in every step of their journey.

“You can be innovative, you have to be creative, you have to be successful without stealing from the public funds,” said Prabowo. “Many Indonesian people are still living in poverty, many of our children don’t eat breakfast. You young people are their hope.”

Prabowo reminded them that youth service can start small from their nearest environment. “We need young people as potential leaders. In the near future, you can lead from the village level, after that you can continue to go up to higher levels,” said Prabowo.

UKRI is a university that was established based on the noble vision of the Soemitro Djojohadikusumo family who wished to see Indonesia becomes a greater nation.

Currently, UKRI has six faculties, namely the Faculty of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Social Sciences and Letters, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Systems, Faculty of Economics, and most recently, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. (rr)
