Jakarta, IO – The area has been temporarily closed since Wednesday (6/9) until further notice. The closure was carried out by the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (BB TNBTS) authority due to forest fires in Watangan Valley, popularly known as Teletubbies Hill.
BB TNBTS head Septi Eka Wardhani said the total closure was carried out to facilitate the efforts to extinguish the fire and to ensure visitors’ safety, per Tribunnews, Thursday (7/9).
He also asked visitors who have purchased tickets online to reschedule their visits when the park reopens. Septi also asked people who are still around the Mount Bromo tourist site to be extra cautious.

“We appeal to the public, visitors and tourism operators to protect the BB TNBTS area from forest fires,” she said. “Don’t light fires or the like, such as firecrackers or flares. For the sake of mutual safety, if you see a fire, immediately report it to authorities,” urged Septi. (un)
