Govt to revitalize Muaro Jambi cultural heritage soon

Jakarta, IO – The government will immediately revitalize the Muaro Jambi National Cultural Heritage Area (KCBN) in Jambi province. The task will be implemented by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek). This was confirmed by the Culture director general Hilmar Farid, per CNN Indonesia, Fri (12/1).

“Physical construction, especially the museum, the grounbreaking ceremony will also be carried out this year,” said Hilmar.

KCBN Muaro Jambi is designated as a national cultural heritage, covering an area of ​​3,981 hectares. Based on archaelogical discovery, the ancient temple complex is believed to be the oldest and cosmopolitan center for the expansion of Buddhism in Southeast Asia in its heyday.

Furthermore, Kemendikbudristek secretary general Suharti said that the cultural heritage revitalization program would also be optimized for the Merdeka Belajar program. And research and study facilities will also be built there.

Suharti said the revitalization process would involve the Jambi communities as the main element. She is hopeful that these efforts will have a significant impact on the local economic development community.
