Jakarta, IO – ETH, the rector of Pancasila University has been suspended from his position since Tuesday (27/2) by the Pancasila University Education and Development Foundation (YPPUP) after he was accused of sexual harassment.
The incident is said to happen in 2023 in the campus administration building. The victim has reported this to the police and a number of witnesses have been questioned, per Detikcom, Wed (28/2).
ETH has also been summoned by the police. However, he did not show up and the examination will be scheduled for Thursday (29/2).
Separately, YPPUP secretary Yoga Satrio, said that the ETH would be suspended until his term of office ends on March 14.
With the decision, the foundation will appointed Vice Rector I Sri Widyastuti as acting rector until the appointment of a new rector for the 2024-2028 period, wrote YPPUP in a statement released on Tuesday (27/2).
The foundation also appealed to the university’s academic community to remain calm and uphold the principle of presumption of innocence. (un)
