Jakarta, IO – A number of residents donated blood during a blood donation activity during the month of Ramadan at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), Jakarta (26/3). The North Jakarta Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) is holding a blood donation activity themed “Ramadan Blessings for Humanitarian Action” from March 25-29.
In an effort to increase participation, the Indonesian Red Cross is targeting the collection of 5,000 bags of blood, up from 4,300 in the previous year. More than 50 social workers, together with contributions from Friends of PMI and PMI Partners, actively participated in organizing this activity.

To encourage more participation, donors were given basic food packages as appreciation for their contribution. Apart from that, a health post is also provided to provide free medical examination to the participants. The aim of this activity is to ensure the availability of adequate blood stocks to support blood transfusion needs during the month of Ramadan and beyond.
