Jakarta, IO – Staff care for plants cultivated using the container farming method at the Ragunan Agro Education Tourism, Jakarta, (9/1). Cultivating crops without soil using UV light in containers aims to be an alternative medium for farming in Jakarta.
Frans, education officer at Argo Tourism, explained that container farming requires a stable electricity supply to support various special equipment such as LED lights, fans (blower), air conditioners, air humidifiers and water circulation pumps.
The farming method is said to be able to produce better quality vegetables than hydroponics. Therefore, vegetables from container farming can be sold at the modern market. It also has several advantages, including being pest- and disease-free and not dependent on unpredictable weather.
