Since each region has different community capacities, it must be fitted with a different approach. “So, this community-based early warning system must be developed, not only at a national level facilitated by BNPB, but also replicated by people in the regions,” he added.
Afril believes that the ongoing problem is related to the location of early warning instruments. Frequently, local governments lack the budget allocations to maintain the instruments and the early warning information system that BNPB facilitated. He hopes that the Government will be able to make a significant contribution to maintaining minimum service standards in disaster management. (eka)
