Jakarta, IO – Workers from the Jakarta road agency Bina Marga are seen repairing sidewalks around the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), Jakarta, (25/9).
Jakarta Provincial Administration is improving the infrastructure around JIS after the stadium was chosen as the venue for the U-17 World Cup match. The renovations include road widening, sewage, system, sidewalk improvement and access in and out of the stadium targeted for completion in October before the World Cup starts on November 10 until December 2.

In April, Jakarta caretaker governor Heru Budi Hartono, together with SOE Minister and Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) chairman Erick Thohir, and Public Works and Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono carried out inspection to assess the infrastructure that needed to be upgraded to FIFA standards. As a result, several infrastructures at JIS which are found to be non-compliant with FIFA standards.
