Jakarta, IO – Actor Ammar Zoni has been caught in a substance abuse case again on Tuesday (12/12). This was the third time he was arrested for consuming methamphetamine.
“In this case, suspect AZ was found positive for using methamphetamine and marijuana,” said head of West Jakarta Police Anti-Narcotics Unit Indrawienny Panjiyoga, per Kompas, Fri (15/12).
Ammar Zoni was first arrested at his home in 2017 by the Central Jakarta Police. From the results of a urine test, he was declared positive for consuming crystal methamphetamine and marijuana.
Ammar then underwent rehabilitation at the Drug Addiction Hospital (RSKO) Cibubur, East Jakarta. Then, in March 2023, he was nabbed again by South Jakarta Police for abusing methamphetamine.
After seven months in prison, Ammar Zoni was released in October 2023. He reoffended two months later.
Police learned that Ammar obtained the drugs from AK, 41, who was later arrested in Ancol, North Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/12). Police seized a package of marijuana from his rented room.
“When he was about to be arrested, he tried to run away. However, our team managed to catch him,” said Indrawienny.
Police are investigating the possibility that Ammar also sourced drugs from other dealers. (un)
