Whoosh feeder train collides with car in Bandung, killing 4


Jakarta, IO – The feeder train of the Whoosh high-speed train hit a minibus in West Bandung regency on Thursday (14/12). This incident left four people dead and two others injured.

The victims were rushed to Cibabat Regional Hospital for emergency treatment, but one of the victims could not be saved, said the hospital spokesperson Jana Hermawan, per CNN Indonesia Friday (15/12).

The dead victims are Rapika (6), Putra (2), Edi (45), and Neneng Rosmayanti (49), while the injured ones are Ratih Anggraeni (13) and Syakila Lisdia Putri (4).

The incident happened at an unattended rail crossing in Cilame village, Ngamprah at 12.43am WIB. The car wreckage got dragged for as long as 500 meters. The feeder train was en route from Padalarang to Bandung.

For this incident, PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) issued an apology. KCIC corporate secretary Eva Chairunisa said as a result of the incident, Whoosh had to delay a number of trips.

“At 1.33am WIB the evacuation process was completed and the feeder train departed from Cimahi Station at 1.42am WIB, then arrived at Bandung Station at around 1.55 WIB,” she said. (un)
