Jakarta, IO – Member of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) executive committee Arya Sinulingga revealed that the organization has Rp100 billion debt passed on by its former management.

“When we took ever, there was no money, only debt to the tune of Rp100 billion. We have even received legal notices,” said Sinulingga, per Detik, Friday (7/7).

Separately, PSSI chairman Erick Thohir confirmed when asked about the debt.

“Again, I don’t want to blame the old management. But I want the finances to be properly managed so that the next management can make long-term plans,” Thohir said.

“This is what makes the program sustainable and comprehensive. I don’t want to accuse anyone because from the start I had asked for an audit, but the debt has become burdensome,” he said.

He also made sure that he would find a way to pay off the debt without wanting to blame the previous management. He will also take firm action if investigation finds financial impropriety.

“If there is fraud, we will take firm action. No doubt about it,” said Erick. (rr)
