Jakarta, IO – Workers are constructing the CP 201 (Thamrin Station-Monas Station) Phase 2A of MRT Jakarta project in the underground tunnel at Monas Station, (25/1). The track will span 11.8 kilometers from the HI Roundabout to West Ancol. According to PT MRT Jakarta, as of December 25, 2023, the progress has reached 67.26 percent.
This phase is a continuation of the north-south corridor phase 1 which has been operating since 2019, connecting Lebak Bulus to HI Roundabout. With the completion of phase 2, the total length of the north-south route will reach 27.8 kilometers, and the journey from Lebak Bulus Grab Station to Kota Station will take around 45 minutes.
MRT Phase 2 development is designated as a National Strategic Project (PSN), in accordance with Presidential Regulation 56/2018 which amended Presidential Regulation 3/2016 on the acceleration of implementation of PSN and Jakarta Governor Decree 1713/2019 on the amendments to Governor Decree 1728/2018.

Phase 2 itself is divided into two stages, namely phase 2A and phase 2B. Phase 2A involves seven underground stations (Thamrin, Monas, Harmoni, Sawah Besar, Mangga Besar, Glodok, and Kota) with a track length of around 5.8 kilometers. Meanwhile, feasibility study is being conducted on Phase 2B to build two underground stations (Mangga Dua and Ancol) and one depot in West Ancol, with a total track length of around six kilometers.
