Police Arrest 3 Drug Dealers Linked to International Syndicate in N. Jakarta

Jakarta, IO – North Jakarta Police Narcotics Unit arrested three dealers in an international network of methamphetamine and marijuana trafficking cases in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Friday (26/1).

The head of the unit, AKBP Prasetyo Noegroho, said the three perpetrators were arrested in two different cases.
In the first case, the police arrested two people identified as NT and NH and confiscated 84.86 grams of methamphetamine and 86.16 grams of ketamine, alleged to be from Malaysia and Batam networks who planned to distribute the highly addictive and dangerous drug in Jakarta.

“They are old players, related to international networks, including Malaysia and Batam. They have been active since 2021,” said Prasetyo, per detikcom.

In the second case, the police managed to arrest the man identified as MJT and seized evidence weighing 6 kilograms. The perpetrator used an expedition service to send the illicit goods from Aceh to Medan to Jakarta.

“There have been several deliveries, including to West Jakarta, Palmerah, Taman Sari, Cengkareng. So, the material was broken down here, then distributed to the western region,” he revealed.

The three perpetrators were charged with multiple articles and are facing a maximum sentence of 20 years in jail, according to Article 114 Clause 2 subsidiary Article 111 Clause 2 of Law 35/2009 on Narcotics and Article 435 in conjunction with Article 436 of Law 17/2023 on Health. (at)
