Police Academy Cadet Win International Essay Competition on Anti-Corruption Theme

Jakarta, IO – Helena Fiorentina, a Indonesian Police Academy (Akpol) cadet, made achievement in the essay competition to commemorate the 10th Session of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) Conference of the States Parties (CoSP10) in the US.

Helena’s essay, about the role of young people fighting corruption, won a prize at the event held on December 11-15, per Polri.go.id, Sat (16/12).

In her essay, Helena explains how adults and law enforcement can support young people in voicing their aspirations. This opportunity, continued Helena, can be provided through a safe channel. She also explained the steps that can be taken as a police academy cadet to prevent corruption in Indonesia.

Furthermore, Helena hopes that she can be one of the speakers at the Youth Changemaker Event in Atlanta, US. She also said that her participation in the essay competition would improve her foreign language skills.

“My motivation for taking part in this competition is that I want to improve my skills in English,” said Helena.

The essay competition was participated in by police cadets from Southeast Asia. (un)
