Performance by 17,891 preschool children breaks MURI Record

Jakarta, IO – As many as 17,891 preschool and kindergarten children from 21 sub-districts in Ponorogo regency gathered and performed dancing and singing at Ponorogo Square, East Java on Wednesday (14/6). This activity garnered an Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI) record for the most preschool performers in a single location and at the same time.

The activity was organized by the Ponorogo regency administration through the Ponorogo regency education agency and was carried out to commemorate the 2023 PAUD day. It also aims to make the transition from PAUD to elementary school more enjoyable.

Ponorogo Regent Sugiri Sancoko said the success of this activity was due to the cooperation of many parties, including the official service and teachers.

“It was challenging, that’s why we enlisted all agencies and organizations so that everything can run well,” Giri said, per BeritaSatu, Thursday (15/6).

Meanwhile, MURI representative Sri Widayati said that the annual Gebyar PAUD agenda in Ponorogo regency had been entered into MURI record awarded to the Ponorogo regent, head of the Ponorogo education agency, and heads of Indonesian Association of Kindergarten Teachers (IGTKI), Indonesian Teachers’ Association (PGRI), and Association of Indonesian Educators and Teaching Practitioners for Early Childhood Education (Himpaudi) for their initiatives and efforts.
