Jakarta, IO – Therapists give massages to customers at the Kramat Jati Central Market, Jakarta, (15/2). Every evening after the market closes at 7pm, massage therapists will lay out their mats and prepare their massage equipment.
They mainly serve vegetable truck drivers and market porters, charging between tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of rupiah. They also provide cupping therapy to relieve flu with varying rates according to the type of service provided.

Andry, one of the massage therapists, has done the job since 2010. “I start opening my stall around 7pm until around 4am before the market opens. I don’t charge high prices for customers by offering them more flexibility.”
