Jakarta, IO – According to the head of the Health Ministry’s (Kemenkes) Communications and Public Services Bureau, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, the majority of the deaths, with a total of 29, occurred among local poll administrators (KPPS), per CNNIndonesia, Mon (19/2).
The others consisted of community protection officers (linmas), witnesses, subdistrict polling committee officers, and Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) staff. She explained that the number is an accumulation of incidents from various regions, with the majority occurring in West Java (13), followed by East Java (12), Central Java (11) and Jakarta (6).
The other regions are North Sumatra, South Sumatra, Banten, West Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Riau, West Sumatra, Yogyakarta, East Kalimantan and North Sulawesi. Most of those deaths happened among those aged 41-50.

In addition, there were 8,381 election officials who were sick or suffered from health problems. (un)
