Jakarta, IO – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating a number of people to locate the whereabouts of fugitive Harun Masiku.

They include a lawyer Simeon Petrus, students Melita de Grave and Hugo Ganda, and PDI-P secretary general Hasto Kristiyanto.

The three of them are thought to have important information that KPK investigators need in order to arrest Harun Masiku.

KPK spokesperson Ali Fikri explained that the anti-graft agency has summoned Simeon on May 29, followed by Hugo on May 30 and Melita on May 31, per CNN Indonesia, Wed (5/6).

Ali reiterated that KPK will not stop pursuing Harun. “We summoned these individuals to investigate whether there are certain parties who actually knew about his whereabout but hide the information,” said Ali.

Ali said Hasto will summoned next week as a witness in the alleged interim replacement case for members of House for the 2019-2024 term.

“We have yet confirmed the time and whether the summons has been received. However, it has been scheduled,” he said.

Hasto was questioned by the KPK in the same case in January 2020. Afterwards, Hasto appealed to Harun to surrender himself to the KPK but he never showed up and remain at large. (un)
