Perform the Arafah fast before Eid al-Adha

Jakarta, IO – Fasting on the Day of Arafah is another chance for you to reflect and gain closeness to Allah (SWT) without any worldly distractions.

Actor Donny Alamsyah declared that he and his family wish to gain closeness to Allah, the Creator, as they prepare to celebrate Eid al-Adha 2024 or 1445 Hijri.

“There are fasting days at the beginning of the month of Dzulhijjah, and it would be really good if we understood the meaning of the fasting and could perform the Arafah fasting on those days,” said Donny, as quoted from Antara, on Monday, June 17.

Donny said that he also encourages his family to fast before Eid al-Adha arrives. He believes that the fasting days are a suitable time for worship and can serve as a substitute for Muslims who are unable to perform the Hajj.

Meanwhile, on Eid al-Adha, he and his family will pray to ask for forgiveness from Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala before and after receiving sustenance in their lives.

Donny also stated his intention to perform the annual Eid al-Adha sacrifice to fulfill his obligation as a Muslim. “We are obliged to perform the annual sacrifice if we can afford it, as the reward is immense for those who perform it. It is an incredibly noble investment to share our wealth with those who are in need,” said the leading actor of the film Sengkolo, Malam Satu Suro.

Performing animal sacrifice will grant a huge reward to those who conduct it, as Eid al-Adha commemorates Ibrahim’s obedience to God. The good deed will be rewarded in no time, as it involves charity and spiritual reflection.
