Jakarta, IO – A number of BERKAIN participants from various communities enthusiastically took part in a batik-making workshop at the Fine Arts and Ceramics Museum, Kota Tua (Old City) quarter of Jakarta (23/6). This innovative activity organized by IndonesiaTIC and the Kotatua Jakarta Foundation was named BERKAIN (Berkumpul dan Bermain), or gathering and playing. This event aims to preserve and develop traditional fabrics.

In addition, the participants can choose various traditional games such as engrang, congklak and kite flying, as well as various workshops such as ceramics, batik, embroidery, and others, or to simply visit the museum around Fatahillah Park. Another option is to take a tour of the Old City using an electric car, bicycle or on foot, which aims to introduce participants to the notion that playing in museums can also be fun.
