“The traditional distillation process for making Balinese Arak must be maintained, it should not be changed, its authenticity must be maintained,” said Wayan. “People must not be allowed to make Arak through the fermentation process, because it will damage the tradition. If they violate it, strict action will be taken.”
Even though it has been designated as WBTB, Wayan reminded that makers and business players of Balinese arak still have to improve the product quality. He will also order tourism players to serve arak as Balinese specialty drink for tourists, and reduce imported drinks.

“We have to continuously improve the quality of packaging and branding by using Balinese scripts. Business players must also be disciplined so they can compete in local or global markets,” he concluded. (un)
