Jakarta Police launch Patuh Jaya Operation starting today to reduce traffic violations

Jakarta, IO – Jakarta Metro Police will conduct traffic law compliance operation from Monday (10/7) to Sunday (23/7). Head of traffic directorate Latif Usman said there are 14 types of traffic violations that will be penalized.

These include going against the flow, driving under influence, using a cell phone while driving, not using a standardized helmet, not using a seat belt, exceeding speed limit, underage driving and not having a driving license, per Kompas.

Latif also police will also take action against vehicles that are not roadworthy and not equipped with standard equipment, as well as motorists who install sirens. As many as 2,938 joint personnel will be deployed in the operation. Thus, the public is advised to obey all traffic laws.
