Jakarta, IO – The Law and Human Rights Ministry issued a parole to former Banten governor Ratu Atut Chosiyah after she has served seven years in jail.
“Yes, today she has been released from Class IIA Tangerang prison with parole,” said spokesperson of Corrections Directorate General Rika Aprianti, as reported by CNN Indonesia, Tuesday (6/9).
“Through the same parole mechanism as other inmates, when they have met the administrative and substantive requirements,” she added.
However, Atut is still required to take part in the prison education program by the Serang Penitentiary until July 8, 2025. Rika said that during that period, Atut must not reoffend.
