Jakarta, IO – Thousands of Catholics held Christmas Eve Mass at the Cathedral Church, Jakarta, Sunday (24/12).
Churchgoers can be seen packing the pews, even the courtyard, to attend Christmas church service. In the series of Christmas celebrations, they were seen singing praises and solemnly listening to the sermon with the theme “Glory to God and Peace on Earth.”
The Jakarta Cathedral Church held three different sessions at this Christmas Eve Mass. The first one started at 4.30pm WIB, followed by the 7pm and 9.30pm sessions which can be attended in person or through live streaming. The committee also provided tents and large screens around the front yard for those who could not be accommodated inside the church.

The Cathedral Church and the Archdiocese of Jakarta (KAJ) spokesperson Susiana Suwadi said there were approximately 4,000 congregants who attended the evening mass.
