Jakarta, IO – A hair-raising video showing the finding of a baby’s body in a household freezer has shocked the public recently. The video, uploaded by Instagram handle @info_ciledug, sent the social media abuzz. It also highlights the plight of the poor.
The baby’s father, identified as S, admitted that he did it on purpose because he could not afford the funeral cost. He kept the body at his home in Tanah Ratus, Tangerang City, for two days, per Merdeka Friday (7/7).
Ciledug Police chief Diorisha said the incident started when S’s wife AA was taken to the hospital on Sunday (2/7). The next day, AA experienced stillbirth. She then received a treatment in the hospital’s ICU while her husband returned home with the baby’s body.
“After her got home with the baby’s body at around 6pm, he recited prayer in and then put the baby’s body in the freezer at around 8pm,” explained Diorisha.

“He put the body in the freezer after he saw the body being taken out from the hospital’s morgue refrigerator,” he said.
On Tuesday (4/7), S took care of the death certificate in the village after receiving assistance from the local office. He then buried his baby at Selapajang public cemetery at around 11am WIB. (un)
