Avoid dehydration on the Hajj: don’t wait for thirst!

The doctor further stated that these officers will constantly monitor Indonesian hajj pilgrims so that they remain safe and healthy, perform the hajj rituals properly and correctly, and return to Indonesia with both their bodies and souls saved. The pilgrims need to note the following as they perform their ritual this year: 

First, hajj pilgrims must continue to adhere to health protocols, as the pandemic is not over. As always, they should keep their filtering masks on, wash their hands diligently, maintain physical distancing as much as possible, and perform light exercise every day. 

Second, as pilgrims will be performing their rituals outdoor in a location with extreme weather, they must prepare to protect themselves by wearing hats, sun block, and sunglasses, and refrain from wearing black or other darkcolored clothing because it absorbs heat.

Third, they must avoid exhaustion. They should focus only on the mandatory parts of hajj, i.e. the rituals performed in Arofah, Muzdalifah, and Mina, instead of forcing themselves to perform the Dr. dr. I Made Gede Dwi Lingga Utama, Sp.A(K) supplementary rituals that their bodies actually cannot bear. “They need to make sure that they rest properly, as even robots need rest and recharging, and human bodies are not as sturdy as robots,” dr.
