“If the child was forced, she will experience trauma, but this was not the case. It is evident from the child’s statement that after having sexual intercourse with D, she also had sexual intercourse with MDS five times,” explained the judge.
AG was also deemed to have been “actively” involved in planning the assault, and was proven to have “coaxed” victim D into meeting her.
Apart from that, AG also did not try to prevent or stop the assault when the victim was already lying motionless on the ground.
D’s attorney Melissa Anggraini viewed that the judge was “quite cautious” in coming with the verdict. “Even though the family had hoped for the maximum sentence, we accept and respect the ruling,” Melissa told reporters after the trial.
