Jakarta, IO – Members of civil society organization Energy Democracy Coalition staged a theatric using a replica of coal-fired power plant chimney during a protest to commemorate National Electricity Day in front of the head office of state-owned electricity company PLN, Jakarta, Thursday (26/10).
Consisting of Greenpeace, Enter Nusantara and 350 Indonesia, they called on PLN not to limit the capacity of rooftop PV system installations for community as an effort to accelerate the transition to renewable energy in a bid to reduce air pollution.

According to an internal memo, PLN through the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry sought to revise Ministerial Regulation 26/2021 including a change to the original provision which allows solar power system capacity to be 100 percent of customers’ installed household power capacity to a quota-based system.
