Jakarta, IO – The National Police (Polri) drug crimes directorate (Dittipid) uncovered a secret laboratory in a villa in the Canggu area, Badung, Bali, Thursday (2/5).
Three foreign nationals were named as suspects in a joint raid with the Criminal Investigation Bureau (Bareskrim), the Directorate General of Customs and Excise, the Soekarno-Hatta Customs Office and the Bali Customs Office.
Dittipid director Police Brigadier General Mukti Juharsa said active investigation is ongoing into the mastermind and whether they are part of a larger syndicate. He said the clandestine lab that produces chemical and hydroponic marijuana in one single location is the first of its kind in Indonesia, per CNN Indonesia, Monday (6/5).

The villa itself has two rooms. One room was modified into a chemical laboratory that produces mephedrone, the raw material for ecstasy. Meanwhile, the other room was converted into a clandestine organic lab to cultivate marijuana using hydroponic method. (un)
