Jokowi to work from Nusantara in June or July

Jakarta, IO – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is set to work from his new office in Indonesia’s new administrative capital Nusantara (IKN).

Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, who has been appointed the acting chairman of IKN, confirmed that this would happen at the end of June or early July, per Kompas, Tue (4/6).

The ministry is working to accelerate utility connection, in particular clean water. He said water pumps will be installed in Balikpapan in the weekend.

“Hopefully it will be finished by the end of June or early July,” said Basuki.

Jokowi revealed the plan during his working visit to the East Kalimantan and IKN at the end of February.

“I’m still waiting for the airport and toll road to be completed,” he said at the moment. (un)
