Jakarta, IO – Indonesian comedy drama flick “Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap” has been officially selected to participate in the 95th Academy Awards in the category of International Feature Film, Antara reported on Tuesday (13/8).

Indeed, “Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap” is not the first Indonesian movie to make it into the prestigious movie award. That accolade actually belongs to “Nagabonar”, which stars Deddy Mizwar. Indonesian films have competed in the category since 1987.

“However, so far we have never succeeded in bringing home an Oscar from a competition participated in by films from around the world,” said Ilham Bintang, member of the 2022 Indonesian Oscar Selection Committee.
