Jakarta, IO – Vendors complete orders for political party attributes at Senen Market, Jakarta, Thu (7/12). The General Elections Commission (KPU) has announced that the campaign period will start from November 28 to February 10, 2024. It is hoped that this campaign period will boost the order for campaign attributes.
However, a number of vendors said that they have sold less campaign attributes compared to the previous elections. This condition began to occur since the simultaneous general elections in 2019. Sales turnover this time only reached Rp5 million per month, while previously they could earn between Rp20 million to Rp50 million per month.

The decline was attributed to technology advancement especially in social media. According to vendors, campaigns on social media are considered more effective in targeting upper middle-class citizens and young people, compared to conventional means using flags or t-shirts.
