President Jokowi inaugurates Marthinus Hukom as BNN chief


Jakarta, IO – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inaugurated Insp. Gen. Pol. Marthinus Hukom as head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) at the State Palace, Fri (8/12) based on Presidential Decree (Keppres) 182/TPA/2023, which was signed by Jokowi on November 29, per

Marthinus succeeded Comm. Gen. Petrus R Golose who will enter the retirement age on December 1.

Marthinus Hukom has a stellar achievements in the police force. His last position was as the head of the National Police’s anti-terror squad Densus 88, per Detikcom.

The Maluku-born officer also served as head of the anti-terror bomb squad in the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Department (Polda Metro Jaya) from 2001 to 2002 and in the intelligence analysis bureau of the National Police’s anti-terror task force (2002-15).

He was also member of BNN intelligence expert group (2010-12). He was promoted to be deputy head of Densus 88 (2015-16) and deputy director of law enforcement of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) (2017-18).
Following this, Marthinus returned to being the deputy chief of Densus 88 in 2020, before he became its chief in 2020. (un)
