Jakarta, IO – The public conducts activities during Shadowless Day near the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout Bus Stop, Jakarta, Monday (9/10).
According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Day Without Shadows is the name for the Peak Culmination phenomenon, when the sun is exactly at the zenith position. Culmination or transit or istiwa’ is a phenomenon when the sun is exactly in the highest position in the sky.
As a result, the image of an upright object will appear to “disappear” about 30 seconds after and before the peak time in each region, because it overlaps with the object itself. Therefore, the day is known as Zero Shadow Day.
