Jakarta, IO – A total of 2.8 kilograms of cocaine was successfully seized by Soekarno-Hatta Airport Customs Bureau after smuggle attempt was foiled.

The drug smuggler from Colombia disguised the delivery as medical device for blood gas analysis. Head of Soekarno-Hatta Customs and Excise Office Gatot Sugeng Wibowo said the case was uncovered after officers became suspicions about the consignment destined for someone known as KP in Central Jakarta.

“During an in-depth examination, officers found a strong-smelling liquid hidden in the GEM 5000 Premiere branded medical device,” explained Gatot, per Medcom, Tue (27/2).

After the liquid was tested by the Customs Laboratory, the result came back positive that it was cocaine, categorized as Class I narcotics.
