Jakarta, IO – Motorcyclists pass through the Ceger tunnel which is located under the Jagorawi toll road, Jakarta, Thu (30/11). The tunnel is an alternative road access connecting Manunggal III St. and Bungur St. which are located in two sub-districts in East Jakarta — Ciracas and Cipayung.

The 100m-long tunnel is considered very narrow because it only has a width and height of around 2 meters which is only passable for motorbikes. The tunnel section is increasingly narrow due to the presence of water channels, pipes and cable networks in the tunnel.

A number of lights are also installed in the Ceger tunnel for illumination. Even though it is still quite dark during the day, the Ceger tunnel is an alternative access that is always busy with motorbike traffic every day.

According to local residents, the Ceger tunnel was once a rice field and residential area. It was only around 1980 when the government built the Jagorawi Toll Road that the Ceger Tunnel was constructed.
