Jakarta, IO – Indonesian men’s doubles badminton players Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani successfully advanced to the semifinal of the Indonesia Open 2024. They showed a brilliant performance by defeating the Taiwanese pair Lee Jhe-Huei/Yang Po-Hsuan 21-17, 14-21, 21-16 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Friday (7/6).
In other matches, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana was defeated by Danish pair Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen 21-16, 15-21, 23-21. Meanwhile, in the women’s singles event, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung was bested by Chinese opponent Wang Zhi Yi 8-21, 18-21.

These results meant that Indonesia only has one representative remaining in the semifinal. Great hopes now rest on Sabar/Reza to win at least one title from this prestigious tournament.
