Jakarta, IO – Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto explained his views on President Joko Widodo’s economic policies he termed Jokowinomics when he was the keynote speaker at the economic seminar held by Universitas Kebangsaan Republik Indonesia on Tuesday (15/8).
Prabowo explained that Jokowinomics is aimed at achieving more equitable development and social welfare. “Jokowinomics is the true application of the Pancasila Economy that we can use to achieve Golden Indonesia Vision 2045,” said Prabowo.
Prabowo explained that Pancasila Economy itself is based on the principles humanitarianism, economic nationalism, economic democracy and social justice as mandated by the 1945 Constitution.
Jokowi has implemented a number of concrete programs based on the Pancasila Economy, among them through the Healthy Indonesia Card, Smart Indonesia Card, Staples Card, Family Hope Program and Village Fund Direct Cash Assistance (BLT). Prabowo said the programs aim to help the poorest segment of the population. He also said he would continue these programs if he is elected president in 2024.

“The card (systems) implemented by President Jokowi are clearly the true application of the Pancasila Economy and the benefits are felt directly by tens of millions of Indonesian people. If we want to achieve Golden Indonesia Vision 2045, the way is to apply the Pancasila Economy, and we must believe that our school of thought and our formula refers to the Pancasila Economy,” Prabowo said.
