Jakarta, IO – Indonesian men’s doubles badminton players, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, advanced to the round of 16 after defeating Thai opponents Supak Jomkoh/Kittinupong Kedren 19-21, 21-12, 21-13 in the first round of Indonesia Open 2024 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta (5/6).
In another men’s doubles match, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin beat compatriots Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto 21-14, 21-17.
On the other hand, Indonesia’s top-ranked men’s singles shuttler Jonatan “Jojo” Christie was defeated by Malaysian opponent Leong Jun Hao 21-13, 16-21, 21-12 in an intense clash. Jojo’s compatriots in the same event, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, also suffered shock defeats in the first round of the highly competitive BWF Super Series Premier tournament.
