Indonesian-owned business named France’s Best Fine Grocery Store 2024

Jakarta, IO – La Maison De L’Indonésie, a convenience store owned by Indonesian citizen Eka Moncarre has been named The Best Fine Grocery Store 2024 in France in the Judge’s Favorite category.

The award was part of the Gourmet Selection Exhibition of the SIAL Interfood Expo, the largest global exhibition network dedicated to food and drink, Saturday (8/6).

Eka said that this award was a manifestation of his commitment and consistency in promoting Indonesia through the creative economy over the past two years. “The determination of La Maison De L’Indonésie as the winner of the jury’s favorite category was based on the original concept, products that prioritize the concept of sustainability.”

Then unique design and initiatives to invite visitors to explore Indonesia, and active activities to promote products, gastronomy and culture are also part of the consideration.

The awards ceremony will be held on September 16 at the Salon Gourmet Selection expo at Porte de Versailles, Paris. Eka explained that she and 14 other finalists were screened from 54 companies in France that were included in the selection stage for the Gourmet Selection jury team.

After being shortlisted into the round of 15, La Maison De L’Indonésie was selected as one of the top five winners.

“This is moment of pride for Indonesia and the first step to bring Indonesian products to a higher level,” said Eka. “This award will further motivate us to always try our best to represent Indonesia in France.”

Eka said that La Maison De L’Indonésie, which literally means “the house of Indonesia” features a unique concept because it is a café/restaurant/fine grocery/workshop/gallery and expo created to introduce original Indonesian products in the form of chocolate, tea, herbal medicine, spices, etc which it roasts in-house.
