Jakarta, IO – Chinese lion dance troupe performed during the celebration of Cap Go Meh at the Sudirman CBD, Jakarta (24/2).
This festival features a number of performances ranging from Tatung (shaman possessed by the spirit of ancestors) parade to the customary lion and dragon dances oattractions which parade with the route stretching from SCBD Weekland to SCBD Park.
Cap Go Meh concludes the Chinese/Lunar New Year celebrations. Also known as the Lantern Festival, it falls on the 15th day of the first month of the Chinese calendar and marks the first full moon of the new lunar year. This celebration symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and the promise of a bright and prosperous future, while conveying a message of communal harmony, peace, tolerance, reconciliation and forgiveness.

Apart from that, Cap Go Meh is a form of gratitude to God and the deities for the good fortune that has been bestowed and wishes for the happiness of all living beings.
