Jakarta, IO – A group of haj pilgrims started arriving as they were about to depart from the Haj Dormitory, Pondok Gede, Jakarta, Saturday (11/5). There are 393 pilgrims from Jakarta who are making the annual haj pilgrimage to the holy land of Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

According to data from the Religious Affairs Ministry, the first departure of the haj pilgrimage this year will start on May 12. Pilgrims from different regions in Indonesia will be divided into 22 group of flights (known in local term as kloter). This year, Indonesia is given the quota of 241,000 pilgrims, divided into 213,320 regular pilgrims and 27,680 provisionally selected pilgrims.

This flight group consists of two groups from Jakarta and Bekasi, five groups from the Solo, five groups from Surabaya, and each from Batam, Palembang, Banjarmasin, Kertajati, Lombok, Makassar and Padang. The earliest flight is scheduled for May 12 at 1am WIB, and will arrive at Amir Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz International Airport (AMAA) in Medina on May 12 at 7am local time.
