Clash breaks out in a market in Kutabumi, injuring 4


Jakarta, IO – A clash between traders and a number of unidentified people occurred at a market in Kutabumi, Pasar Kemis district, Tangerang, Sunday (24/9).

Four people were reportedly injured. Tangerang Police Chief Commissioner Sigit Dany Setiyono said police has been investigating the incident, per CNN Indonesia Monday (25/9).

“We are undertaking in-depth investigation into the criminal incident, the actors involved and their motives,” said Sigit.

The clash happened during a simultaneous village chief elections (Pilkades). He confirmed that now the situation has been calm and under control. He appealed to the parties involved in the clash to surrender themselves voluntarily.

The clash happened when the unidentified mob tried to use violence against the traders who refused to be relocated. However, the spat turned into clash after alleged looting attempt. (un)
