Bodies found at Unpri cadavers for anatomy learning, says university

Jakarta, IO – Universitas Prima Indonesia (Unpri) in Medan, North Sumatra, provided clarification regarding the recent discovery of bodies on its campus by the Medan police.

Unpri claimed that the corpses were cadavers used as a medium to learn anatomy in its Faculty of Medicine, per Medcom, Thu (14/12).

“The Faculty of Medicine has five cadavers, one female and four males,” explained the deputy dean Col. (Retd.) Drg. Susanto.

Previously, a video showing the discovery of an unidentified decomposed corpses went viral on social media. The bodies were found in a blue tub filled with water located on the 9th floor of the campus.

In response, Medan Police went to check the campus on Monday (11/12). However, at that time they were refused entry by university staff.

Nevertheless, police officers managed to enter the campus to carry out a search. However, at that time the 9th floor had been cleaned and the water tank seen on the video was no longer there.

Officers returned to campus to investigate the scene the next day, Tuesday (12/12). They found five bodies on the 15th floor of one of the campus buildings. The police are still investigating whether foul play was involved. (un)
