Jakarta, IO – The National Police’s anti-terror squad Densus 88 arrested six terrorists affiliated to the terror network Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) in South Sumatra.
Densus 88 spokesperson Aswin Siregar said the suspects were arrested in Palembang, Lampung, Cirebon and Jakarta. The suspects were identified as J, IR, LS, AF, AS and A. They were accused of hiding and protecting fugitives suspected of involvement in acts of terrorism.
Densus 88 previously searched the house of the father-in-law of suspect AF, arrested in Lampung. Police seized several items from the house, including three cell phones, two backpacks, jackets, ID and family card, and a book bank account book, and books related to the crimes of AF,” he said. (rr)
