Jakarta, IO – President-elect Prabowo Subianto, who will assume the top job for the 2024-2029 term said he is currently focused on preparations ahead of the inauguration on October 20, 2024.
These preparations include studying the problems faced by the nation and holding discussions with all relevant parties to formulate strategic steps to develop Indonesia.
This aims to ensure that he can spring to work right after the inauguration, and that no valuable time is wasted.
“We will formulate measures on how we can deliver on the mandates bestowed to us,” said Prabowo, Sunday (28/4).
In the transitional process, Prabowo acknowledged that outgoing President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has provided enormous help and demonstrated a caring attitude. Prabowo also revealed that their relationship has become even closer, citing an instance than Jokowi now greets him with “Mas Bowo” instead of simply “Mr. Defense Minister.”

“The president is very attentive and thorough,” Prabowo noted. “He made great efforts to ensure that I will be fully prepared [to take over the job].”
He revealed that he has been given advices on which countries to which he should conduct state visits post-inauguration. For the reference, Prabowo recently visited China and Japan and is scheduled to tour the Middle East at the directive of the president.
