Jakarta, IO – Human Development and Culture chief minister Muhadjir Effendy said the ceremony to commemorate the 79th anniversary of Indonesia’s independence on August 17 will be held in a hybrid manner in two locations.
Muhadjir said President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo would personally lead the ceremony in the new administrative capital Nusantara (IKN) while Vice President Ma’ruf Amin the one in Jakarta, per Detikcom, Mon (10/6).
Muhadjir also said that President-elect Prabowo Subianto would join the celebration in IKN while Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka the one in Jakarta.

Muhadjir further revealed that the government is still finalizing the list of attendees, which will include former presidents and other dignitaries.
“The President directed that the attendance of former presidents, whether in IKN or Jakarta, be given special attention,” he said. (un)
