Jakarta, IO – Visitors watch the 2024 International Kite Festival at Lagon Beach, Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, Jakarta, (29/6).  The festival, which was held to celebrate Jakarta’s 497th anniversary, was participated in by around dozens of international participants and 90 national participants and lasted until July 7.

During this festival, participants will fly various shapes and sizes of kites every day. The kites that have taken part in this activity are seen in the form of animals such as sharks, crabs, insects, figures, and even kites bearing the Indonesian symbol. The kites can be seen flying across Lagon Beach from morning to evening.

This International Kite Festival also coincides with the school children’s holiday. Aside from watching giant kites, visitors, most of them children, were also seen swimming and playing in the sand on the beach. The kite festival can be an alternative for Jakarta residents to spend their school holidays without having to leave the city.
