Jordan, IO – Defense Minister who is also President-elect of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto held a bilateral meeting with the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Amman, Jordan, Tuesday (11/6).

The meeting happened after Prabowo spoke at the “Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza” High-Level Conference where Indonesia welcomed the passing of UNSC Resolution 2735 which contains a three-phase proposal for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza as proposed by US President Joe Biden.

Indonesia also appreciated the mediation initiative carried out by the US, Egypt and Qatar.

“Indonesia is ready to work with America, Egypt and Qatar to ensure negotiations continue and realize a permanent ceasefire for a just and lasting peace in Palestine. An immediate, full and comprehensive ceasefire is essential to revive the peace process,” said Prabowo.

On the same occasion, Prabowo reiterated the urgency of international support necessary for a Palestinian state to realize its statehood and nation-building, including strengthening its government, providing assistance for recovery, and moving towards UN membership.
