Jakarta, IO – Medan mayor Bobby Nasution has officially been inducted as the cadre of the Gerindra Party. The son-in-law of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo received his membership card (KTA) from the party’s North Sumatra executive committee, Monday (20/5).
“Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I have officially become a Gerindra cadre,” Bobby wrote on his social media account, per Jawa Pos, Tue (21/5).
In addition, Bobby wished to seek Gerindra’s nomination in the North Sumatra gubernatorial race. “Thank you for the warm welcome from the Gerindra North Sumatra executive committee, for accepting me to work together to develop North Sumatra,” said Bobby.

Before joining Gerindra, Bobby Nasution was the cadre of PDI-P. However, he refused to support PDI-P presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo in the February election and threw his support behind Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
“I found that the vision and missions of the Gerindra Party are compatible with mine,” said Bobby. (un)
